This piece that I’ve been working on forever has finally come to a halt, not only to meet the deadline, but I couldn’t make up my mind about it. Initially the palette was very aged and the composition would twist in on itself, but had then turned into a lush, much denser field of colours. I wanted to convey the idea of having a picture within a picture to represent memory, and have these strands of colour act as maybe triggers or the make up of a memory. It was working quite well during the middle when I had the orange and purples offset the surrounding green background, but in the end I feel it was just too laboured and half successful.
